Blogs loving blogs

Wednesday, June 25th, 2008

So, I’m trying to keep this blog as exciting as the blogs I check regularly. Although I’m not quite there yet, I thought you’d enjoy what I enjoy in the blogging world, if you haven’t already discovered it yet.

Print & Pattern is full of trend forecasting of colors, illustration, pattern, design and product. Definitely worth checking out when you have inspiration block or just curious about what’s out there.

Kindra is Here is a blog my friend/ol’ art school teacher/designer has put together. It includes documentation of all her super sweet findings and even some of her own work. She is just too cool for school. Even if she is a teacher!

craft blog

Craft: the blog holds me over while I wait for my quarterly Craft magazine to come in the mail. I love crafts and looking at other people’s crafts. Good times, good times.

An overdue thank you

Just a quick shout out to the man that helped me make the Too Many Suitors website/blog (as well as my own personal portfolio site) possible through his mad web knowledge, coding skills, lightbox ideas, extreme patience and almost always “yes”s: the man, the legend, Mr. Jon White. Holla! Thank you, most sincerely. And since Jon might be the only one subscribed to my blog, I might just get me my first blog comment! Don’t let me down, Jon!

Why I heart Flight of the Conchords

flight of the conchords cd cover

Seriously. If you haven’t seen this show, rent it, netflix it, borrow it, (steal) it, do whatever you need to do to get your hands on HBO’s season 1. Jemaine and Bret are hilarious, as well as their supporting cast AND the songs and music videos are not only catchy, but really good. These boys have talent.

Not only do they have talent, they recognize it as well. Their cd packaging (above) is a beautiful piece of work designed by Jeff Kleinsmith from Patent Pending Industries and illustrated by Tyler Stout. Annnnnnnnd…..when I saw Flight of the Conchords, not only did I get to meet them (after waiting in the cold) and really see how sweet and humble they are, I gave them some Too Many Suitors shirts! And the next day, I got a lovely little message in my myspace inbox from half of FOTC, Jemaine Clement himself:

fotc thanks tms

So, that’s right ladies and gents, Flight of the Conchords and Arj Barker are my first celebrity clients. Well, not really clients because I gave them the shirts, but you get the point. And I couldn’t have dreamt of three more deserving people. I don’t go around giving it out to everyone, y’know.
